Description

Polyurethane on iron wheels have polyurethane treads chemically bonded onto a cast iron core. These wheels are used in industrial applications to haul heavy loads on floors that require some protection. Polyurethane is not truly floor protective because it does not have the resilience and cushioning properties of rubber, but it is less damaging to floors and cargo than other hard tread wheels, like phenolic, polyolefin, cast iron and ductile iron. Compared to rubber wheels they are harder, easier to move, more durable, more abrasion resistant, more resistant to grease, oil, chemicals, and they will handle larger loads in more abusive environments.
